Giving back ideas

So after seeing so many ways women are giving back after the losses of their children I have been thinking about things I could do. So far the only thing I have come up with is to write names on the beach with the sea shells we have collected. I've also thought about doing something else like crocheting blankets for the hospital or making memory boxes for the hospital to distribute. I have some thinking to do....

Family

Tonight our neighbor surprised us when they invited us over for cake and ice cream. They were celebrating Jim's 72nd birthday today. While sitting there with their family I couldn't help but think about how much I want to have a large family. Family are there for you no matter what comes your way. I want to have a lot of kids so they can have lots of grandkids for us. :) That would make me happy. Brinley was the first of many children I want to have. It is tragic to have this set back but it will not hold us back.

It also made me miss my grandparents. We are planning on visiting them this winter. I know their health is not what it used to be and I cherish every moment I get with them.

I love my family.

Dragonflies

I have always had an appreciation for dragonflies. I never really knew what their symbolism was but knew that I wanted to get one tattooed on my for my memorial tattoo for Brinley. I decided to look up what they symbolized today and it was made clear to me why I decided on the dragonfly.

Dragonflies represent change, Brinley has changed my life forever. They also are creatures of the water, I have been having lots of dreams about water. One of the first things I got for her was a crib bedding that had dragonflies on it so the dragonfly has always been a representation of what Brinley was and is to me.  I may not fully explain why this means so much to me but please read the description below to get a better understanding.

Symbolism of Dragonflies

As a creature of the wind, the dragonlfy totem represents change. It's iridescent wings are incredibly sensitive to the slightest breeze, and so we are reminded to heed where the proverbial wind blows - lest we run into stormy weather.
Dragonflies are also creatures of the water, and any creature whose habitat is in, or around water carries symbolism relative the the subconscious, or "dreaming" mind and thoughts.
This is because in the animal world, water is symbolic of the subconscious mind ("deeper mind," "dreaming mind") and relates to the thoughts we have in relaxed/meditative/sleeping/subconscious states.

Angel Unaware

I love this poem. It makes me cry everytime I read it. RIP my baby girl.

Angels Unaware

Oh, the longing we both had,
To be a mummy and a dad.
We put our hopes and dreams in you,
He hoped for pink, I dreamed of blue.
but for you God had a different plan,
One we may never understand.
We were visited by an angel,
Though we didn't know it then.
You were the answer to our prayer,
Our Angel Unaware.

We hardly got to say hello,
Before we had to let you go.
God breathed your name and called you home.
So briefly here, so quickly gone.
But in the stillness of the night,
My empty arms still hold you tight.
We were visited by an angel,
Though we didn't know it then.
You were the answer to our prayer,
Our Angel Unaware.

In my mind I see you running.
Chasing bees and butterflies.
Soft hair gently blowing.
Healthy cheeks, laughing eyes.
In the quietness of the morning,
When the mist hangs in the air,
I hold you close within my heart -
My Angel Unaware.

How can I miss someone so much,
I barely had the chance to touch?
Yet, as you grew inside of me,
I learned how strong a love could be.
I knew you for a lifetime -
I'll love you for all of mine.
We were visited by an angel,
Though we didn't know it then.
You were the answer to our prayer,
Our Angel Unaware
